TFIIF

Composition: Two subunits (yeast has a third non-essential protein associated).

Features:

Interactions: TFIIF binds directly to RNA polymerase II (and was originally isolated as an RNA polymerase II associated protein or RAP). TFIIF is necessary for RNA polymerase II to stably associate with the TFIIF-TFIIB-promoter complex. There is a protein interaction between the small subunit and TFIIB in vitro and a genetic interaction between the large subunit and TFIIB.

Functions: Helps recruit RNA polymerase II to the initiation complex in collaboration with TFIIB. TFIIF is a component of the yeast holoenzyme and mediator complexes. Promotes transcription elongation, may remain associated with the elongating polymerase.

Additional search terms can be typed into the boxes.

Enter your query in the boxes below. A document matches a box if all words within it appear in one field of the document. The documents matching a box are combined with boxes following it using the selected operator to its right. The AND and BUT NOT operators limit retrieval and the OR operator expands it.

Checking the "fr" (Field Restriction) box limits the match to the fields checked in the table below.
